The cemetery is situated next to the Veļķi suburb. The cemetery is the final resting place for a range of prominent culture personalities, for example, artists Ansis Artums (1908–1997) and Leonīds Āriņš (1907–1991), the cartoonist Gunārs Bērziņš (1927–1999) and others.
