The trail of nature’s paintingswinds through the forests of the recreational centre “Valguma pasaule”, introducing with the steep banks of the Slocene River and the serene Lake Valgums. With the help of colourful frames, nature’s paintings are literally framed to show what your natural science and biology books write about. Here, you can see fallen deadwood (windfallen trees), traces of spruce bark beetle, deresined pine trees, coniferous forest scenery, protected biotopes, outcrops near Slocene River, as well as the activities and mischief of beavers. If you are lucky, you might catch a glimpse of foxes and roes, too. Birdwatchers can try to spot common kingfishers, grey herons, Eurasian wrens, woodpeckers, chaffinches, goldcrests, mallards, dippers or even black storks. And finally, for nature lovers, this is an opportunity to relax while enjoying the versatility and beauty of the nature’s landscape.
