The garden of irises in the area of Kandava is owned by the selectionist of gladiolas and irises Laimonis Zaķis, who has been selecting plants for more than 30 years. The number of varieties of bulbous flowers — irises, gladiolas and other species — created by him is not exceeding already several hundreds. Laimonis Zaķis is now the owner of the largest collection of dwarf bearded irises in Latvia. During the blooming time, the owner opens up his garden to visitors.
