In the Brieži family park created by the politically repressed resident of Kandava Pēteris Briedis, there is a tree planted for each member of the family. The commemorative park was created in 2005. It has 26 trees, including exotic ones, such as the Canadian spruce, box elder, beech, horse chestnut, hazelnut, Manchurian walnut. The commemorative park was created to honour the 10 politically repressed members of the family who did not return from Siberia and whose final resting place is unknown. Birthdays of each family member was found out to determine the most suitable tree for each one. In the territory of the park, you can climb the watchtower to have a look at the picturesque Abava valley and sit down in the gazebo to enjoy a cuppa.
