The Grenči manor estate was once the largest overlord property in the Tukums Overlord’s region of the Tukums congregation. In 1693, the Grenči manor hosted the Duke’s domain board. In 1711, after the death of the Duke of Courland Friedrich Wilhelm, the manor was acquired by Anna Yoanovna, who later became the Kaiserin of Russia. The main sectors of activity at the manor were forestry and live-stock farming along with fish farming. In order to improve soil fertility, in the 18th century, Grenči and its auxiliary manors had approximately 20 artificial field ponds.
In 1802, the Russian Tsar gifted the Grenči Manor to the Kurzeme knighthood.
The building of the manor manager was designed in 1870 by the Kurzeme architect T. Seiler. It is a simple single-storey building, which is adorned in line with the fashion of the time with Gothic building details. Around 1877, a windmill was built near the manor centre.
In 1921, as a result of the agrarian reform, the manor was divided into 71 new farms. In 1930, a creamery and cheese-making facility was set up in the Grenči manor magasin building, but a community house in the masters’ quarters. Since 1948 it also hosted a collective farm office and apartments.
The manor masters’ quarters hosted only apartments.
