The Durbe Park has been the venue of cultural events for more than 100 years. In 1928, during the first regional song festival of Tukums, the poet Rainis, President of the State Gustavs Zemgals, and other high-standing public officials participated as the guests of honour. In 1957, the former Durbe open-air stage was torn down, but in 1963, the wooden structure stage of Durbe that we see today was built. Although it suffered damages due to the snow weight in January 2011, when the roof of the stage collapsed, music specialists say that the sound on the Durbe stage now is even better than before.
