The new market squarein Tukums formed at the beginning of the 20th century. During the construction works, ancient burial site was discovered on the corner of Dārza and Raiņa streets, which has confirmed the assumption stating that Tukums was once an ancient settlement for the Livs. Just like before, the market is open three times per week - on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays - from early morning till afternoon, gathering local farmers and other traders to sell goods of the country, offering the market-goers to buy products from the gardens, forests, meadows and sea.
