Meža Street together with Kurzemes, Raudas, and Dārzniecības Street first appeared on the town’s maps more than about 100 years ago, when on the former outskirts of the town, sawmills, slaughter houses, and horticulture farms were set up. Meža Street then was the town’s border of sorts.
