Ērģelnieki

Description

Engure vicarage “Ērģelnieki”, to which the local government school moved in 1897 after the school building in Ķesterciems (1861–1897) burnt down. The 200 year old timber building with an open hearth in the middle is situated right in the centre of the Engure village. The building is an important and very rare example of Latvian wooden architecture with a high level of authenticity. Together with the Engure wooden church, they form a unique wooden architecture ensemble in the landscape of coastal villages of Kurzeme.
