WRC 2024 in Latvia and Tukums
In 2024, a stage of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) will be held in Latvia for the first time. In the summer of 2024 (18 –21 July), it will cover the territory from the rally city Liepāja to the capital Riga, also including special stages in Tukums, Talsi and the region of Talsi, region of Kuldiga and the region of South Kurzeme. Latvia will become the 37th country to host a WRC stage.
“As the rally travels from Riga, via Kurzeme, all the way to the city of the sea and the wind — Liepāja — in the summer of 2024, we will have a chance to experience one of the most ambitious sporting events ever staged in Latvia and, over the four days, it will be the longest and most comprehensive motorsport celebration ever held in our country,” says Raimonds Strokšs, the director of RA Events, which is the organiser of Tet Rally Latvia.
Detailed special stage maps will be published a few weeks before Tet Rally Latvia, but as of now, the first special stage is expected to take place on Thursday, 18 July, at Riga’s Bikernieki Race Track. On Friday, 19 July, the special stages will take place in the region of Tukums, in Talsi and in the region of Talsi, but on Saturday, 20 July, the rally crews will continue their journey in Kuldiga municipality, South Kurzeme region and the rally hub — Liepāja. Tet Rally Latvija final special stages, as well as the definitive Power Stage, are scheduled for Sunday, 21 July, in the region of South Kurzeme. The opening event is planned for Thursday evening in Riga, while the fastest crews will be honoured at the awards ceremony on Sunday in Liepāja.
