Exhibition about literature and Tukums
A new exhibition "Tukums. City of Literature" has been opened in the Tukums City History Museum - Castle Tower from July 18, inviting you to get to know Tukums as a place of literary inspiration and discover how the city and the people of Tukums are reflected in the literary works of various authors - from the beginnings of writing to the present day. The exhibition allows you to look at Tukums from a different perspective - through the works of writers and poets, memories and testimonies of contemporaries, revealing the city's literary heritage.
As the Tukums literary community acknowledges: "This exhibition is the most significant event since obtaining the UNESCO City of Literature title, because finally - two and a half years after the world-class assessment - we feel appreciated in our own city. Not each of us personally, but because the special importance of literature in the city's biography, character and the sound of the name Tukums in the world has been appreciated." Along with the opening of the exhibition, a new route "Still Other Pearls" was also opened virtually, where you can get to know Tukums through the works of writers.
The exhibition can be viewed in the Tukums Castle Tower (Brīvības Square 19a, Tukums) until July 11, 2027, every week from Tuesday to Saturday 10:00 - 17:00 and on Sundays 11:00 - 16:00. Entrance with a museum ticket: for adults - 1.50 EUR, pensioners and persons with disabilities - 1 EUR; pupils and students - free of charge.

Tukums Library in the Summer
The library is not just a book store – it is a space for events and a place to search for answers and share knowledge. It is also open in the summer. Its opening hours are Monday-Friday from 10:00 to 18:00, on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as on the last Wednesday of each month, the library is closed to visitors.
