Grab your skis, poles, warm mittens and hats! This, of course, will not be enough, and we urge you to dress accordingly to enjoy the coldest time of the year while skiing.

Over the last few days, the winter has surprised us not only with frost and snow storms, but it has also brought us joy with a thick layer of fresh snow. This is why we are inviting you to take this opportunity and get active, enjoy skiing and beautiful landscapes painted by the winter in the area of Tukums.

Where to go skiing in the area of Tukums?

Downhill skiing and snowboarding are offered at the recreation centre “Milzkalns” near Tukums. It is worth noting that if you choose to ski on Milzkalns Hill, you will find yourself in a true fairytale, because skiers can enjoy not only the slopes but also a longer cross-country skiing adventure through a magical forest. A children’s slope is available for the younger skiers. The slopes are open on weekdays from 12.00 until 22.00 and on weekends from 10.00. - For the third year in a row, enthusiastic skiers with their team have set up a cross-country track at the Pauzers Meadows of Tukums. The cross-country track is to be used with your own equipment. Address: Revolūcijas iela, Tukums

- Everybody is invited to get moving and enjoy winter fun right outside the town, at the recreation centre “Sveikuļi”. The cross-country skiing track can be used during the daylight hours. - In Smārde, you can go skiing around the illuminated stadium up until 23.00. You can also go ice-skating in Smārde. Address: Smārde Elementary School Stadium, Smārde rural municipality, Tukums municipality

- The recreation and skiing centre “Milzkalns” is welcomes not only skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts, but also those who enjoy cross-country skiing. You will find the cross-country track as you enter the territory of Milzkalns, on your left, and it is approximately 600 m long. It is illuminated in the evenings, and is free of charge. Equipment hire includes also cross-country skiing equipment. The slopes are open on weekdays from 12.00 until 22.00 and on weekends from 10.00.
