On August 8, 2026, Jaunpils will become a place where history will come alive, music will be played, knightly battles will take place, and the 725th anniversary of Jaunpils Castle will be celebrated.

This year, Jaunpils is celebrating a special event – ​​Jaunpils Castle is turning 725, and in honor of this important anniversary, the festival "725 reasons to celebrate" will take place on August 8. From 3:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Jaunpils will transform into a bustling medieval town, where history will meet the joy of modern festivities.

The festival program will offer diverse activities for all generations. During the day, visitors will be able to watch breathtaking knightly battles, participate in a medieval costume parade, enjoy poetry performances, meet a lute player and learn about the skills of ancient crafts. Knights' tents will be open, there will be an opportunity to mint coins, participate in a breakout game and learn the secrets of medieval life.

There will also be no shortage of taste adventures - the Latvian Shashlik Cooking Championship will take place in Jaunpils, while a craft and home-made market will be open throughout the day, offering local crafts and delicacies.

A special festive atmosphere will also be thought of for families with children - there will be inflatable attractions, horse riding, water balloons, large soap bubbles, face painting and other exciting activities.

At the end of the evening, festival visitors will be delighted by concerts with Liepāja singing actors "Aģenti" and the legendary group "Otra Puse", followed by a ball with the group "Lauku muzikanti". Meanwhile, at midnight, the sky over Lake Jaunpils will be illuminated by a magnificent festive fireworks display.

Throughout the event, there will also be an opportunity to visit the Jaunpils Castle and Museum, a church, a watermill, the Craft House and other festive venues, which will allow you to get to know the rich cultural and historical heritage of Jaunpils.

The Jaunpils Parish Festival is an invitation to everyone – families, friends, residents of the region and guests from all over Latvia – to celebrate together a place whose story has been going on for 725 years.
