Historical Parks and Gardens Days in Tukums
Latvian castles and manors invite you to the Historical Parks and Gardens Days on July 4 and 5. This is the right time to indulge in exploring the diversity of nature and observing the landscape. This year, special attention will be paid to teas, which historically were not only valuable for health, but also a testament to status and elegance when receiving guests. Two manors on the Tukums side will welcome guests – Durbe and Šlokenbeka.
This year, Durbe Manor will invite you to stop for a moment and draw inspiration from art, music and nature on both days. The first day will be dedicated to the joy of creation, as artists from Tukums and Jūrmala will meet in a joint plein air on the territory and park of Durbe Manor House. Visitors will have the opportunity to watch how a blank canvas turns into a work of art. At the culmination of the day, the express exhibition “One Day in Durbe” will allow you to see Durbe Manor and Park through the eyes of artists.
In the afternoon, visitors will be invited to indulge in the charm of music at the concert “Echo of the Era”, which will take the audience on a musical journey to sunny Italy and romantic Germany. Kaspars and Agnese Fedorov will perform the most beautiful opera and operetta arias, as well as works by Latvian composers Emīls Dārziņš, Jāzeps Vītols and Arvīds Žilinskis, and world classics masters Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Gaetano Donizetti, Felix Mendelssohn, Johann Strauss and Franz Lehár. Daiga Blumberg will be at the piano. Admission to the concert is free. Tour of the castle, historical interior exposition and current exhibitions – with a museum entrance ticket.
On Sunday, Durbe Manor will invite you to enjoy the peace of the manors park, offering to explore the park’s trees and natural values with the help of a manors booklet, search, recognize and discover interesting facts about the park’s natural values. A tour of the castle’s historical interior and exhibitions will also be a must. Visiting the park, as always, is free. Tour of the manor house, historical interior exposition and current exhibitions – with a museum entrance ticket.
Meanwhile, the Šlokenbeka Manor will invite guests to enjoy Baron's Black Tea with lemon and Baroness's delicacy in its courtyard on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The price for a cup of tea with delicacy is 2 EUR.
